Kaizen’s game 1
Here is a kaizen’s game. I got this from my professor who introduced me to kaizen. Thanks to him. Here is the game. Have you ever seen a bag of oranges? In some countries, Japan especially, oranges are put into tube-like-shape-bag, as shown below.
Why? It’s because by putting oranges on tube-shape-bag like that, customer will easily notices if there are defected oranges. If oranges were put into ordinary plastic bag, it would be more difficult for customers to know that all oranges that he wants to buy are in a good condition. They can examine all oranges, but they have to open the bag and examining it one by one.
Japanese people, since their philosophy is “customers decide or customers are everything”, try to ease its customers in choosing only the best oranges. By putting oranges on tube-shape-bag, customers do not have to open the bag and examining them one by one. Customer can lift the bag up, and see if there is a bad or over-ripe orange. So, tube-shape-bag is more customers oriented then the ordinary one.
Then the problem is, how to put those oranges into its bags? Is it by doing like what is shown in figure below?
Or like this?
Is there any ideas? Do you think there is no better idea? Think twice, like what gembapatarei said, there are at least seven ways in no way in kaizen.
You can submit yours.
